Bipolar 2 is another type of disorder that has a multitude of depressive episodes. It also needs to have at least one event of hypomania behavior. Bipolar 2 requires a two-week-long depressive episode. The hypomania episode involves a minimum of four days in length. Bipolar 2 is very difficult to diagnose because hypomania symptoms are complicated to identify. Many people are misdiagnosed. They may be diagnosed as having chronic depression. Treatment is also challenging to predict; you will need to stay in constant contact with your psychiatrist and create a mood and behavior diary. Your psychiatrist may have to prescribe different medications, or medication cocktails to find the right balance.
